Raku Day!

Well, Saturday started out hot and only got hotter!! We had a Raku party!

Thanks to potter Mark Carroll for building the kiln and for doing his demonstrations and thanks for everyone coming out to participate! The food everyone brought was great and the Pottery came out FABULOUS!

Summer's Here

It's finally summer! With all the flowers blooming and the fruits and vegetables ripening, it's my favorite time of the year.

These beautiful sunflowers were volunteers. They came up any where our chicken coop had been, from the left over chicken seed. So we let them grow and WOW! The whole back yard is filled with these lovely flowers!

The apples are just about ready to pick, so I can make apple butter and this year, apple sauce baby food, for my grand baby.

The bees are busy gathering nectar to make delicious honey.

And, of course, the male turkey, "puffy" is his name, is still strutting around.

open house a WONDERFUL success! Thank you!

Now I wonder what the rest of this winter will make in the future?

First Grandbaby!

Just wanted everyone to see my first grandbaby and it's a boy! He is 6 lbs 8 oz and 19.5 inches long. Him and Kim, my daughter, are doing wonderfully! As you can tell he has a GREAT pair of lungs on him.

The studio is empty,
of pots it once had,
the potter is weary,
and just a wee bit glad.

Full of love and good cheer.
and the weariness she feels,
